How eggs should lie
Nature has designed eggs to always end up lying on their side. This is the only way the chalaza is able to keep the sensitive yolk in the middle of the egg white. If eggs are stored standing (whichever way up), the chalaza becomes slack, allowing the yolk to come into contact with the porous shell and bacteria and germs to penetrate into the egg. That’s why eggs lie on their side in hen’s nests.
Movement is beneficial
Hens
regularly roll the eggs in their nests. This keeps the chalaza flexible
and the eggs in great shape. The design of Rock&Roll ensures that
the eggs stored in it roll automatically when you put the bottom one
facing up. “Rolling” every two days is not just fun, but keeps your eggs
fresh too.
Fight germs with minerals and light
Fight germs with minerals and light
Rock&Roll
is made from a special granite ceramic. We mix rutile into the ceramic
mass. Through the process of photocatalysis, this mineral counteracts
germs and bacteria that could be found on the shell. This natural effect
works both in daylight and in artificial light. The ceramic is
food-safe. Rock&Roll can be washed in the dishwasher without losing
any of its antiseptic effect.
Egg storage tips
Egg storage tips
Eggs can be enjoyed for at least 28 days after laying, regardless of whether they have been refrigerated or stored at room temperature. The shelf life of eggs is normally even longer. A sniff test after cracking open the egg is a reliable indicator of freshness.
Do not position Rock&Roll in direct sunlight or right next to sources of heat as this could lead to the eggs becoming overheated.
Rock&Roll can be washed by hand or in the dishwasher.
