Create an ambient climate with the right humidity
The high surface temperature produced by stoves greatly reduces the humidity in the ambient air, leading to problems and damage. The mucous membranes of people and animals dry out and provide a breeding ground for bacteria. In order to create a pleasant ambiance, the air must be moistened. The water in the container is heated up to around 60°C before being turned into bacteria-free water vapour. Natural essential oils (see Waxburner oils) can also be added to the water to make a pleasant room scent.
